What is WampServer

WampServer is a Windows web development environment. WampServer is versatile and allows users to create web applications with PHP, Apache2 and a MySQL database. WampServer is easily managed and configured via its user-friendly PHPMyAdmin interface.

Under GPML license, WampServer is available for free in both a 32-bit and 64-bit environment. While older versions of WampServer are compatible with Windows XP, SP3 or Windows Server 2003, WampServer 2.5 and above are not.

Installing WampServer

Installing WampServer is almost as easy as using it! To install WampServer:

1. Download the install file and follow the on-screen instructions. Kick back and relax - the WampServer install kit does the heavy lifting for you!

2. Wait.

3. If desired, manually add Apache, PHP or MySQL additions. The only limitation is that all additions must be compiled with VC9, VC10 or VC11.
